[Other] Racist poster stuck on Muslim shop near to mosque
Kathryn Ryan, the Salford Advertiser 23 November 2006 A MUSLIM newsagent with a shop just yards from the mosque where several worshippers were attacked has been targeted by racists.
Hanif Belim discovered a poster in the window of Gordon’s Newsagents in Liverpool Road, Eccles on Wednesday, November 8.
The National Front poster includes an offensive and racist slogan.

Mr Belim, a member of the Salford Faith Forum who appealed for calm following the mosque attack in October, said: "I was attacked in my back street a long time ago and they claimed to be from the National Front.
"But recently there had not been any problems until the mosque incident.
"We have rang the police and put the poster in a plastic bag and now they are dealing with it.
"Our MP Ian Stewart has also been informed."
Police confirmed they are investigating the incident.
Last month four Muslims, including an Iman, were injured after two white men burst into the Eccles and Salford Islamic Centre in Liverpool Road.
Just days later a white barber Jeff McHugh was attacked in his nearby shop by two Asian men who asked him if he was a racist before kicking and headbutting him.

A public meeting has now been organised with representatives from several faiths.
The ‘Say No to Racism’ meeting was arranged by the Salford Community Network and Salford TUC and will feature guest speakers Ian Stewart MP, Yvonne Ridley, the political editor and journalist for The Islam Channel, and Henry Guterman from Unite Against Facism.
Alec McFadden, from the Community Network, said: "Eccles has a fine tradition of racial harmony, however, the attack on the mosque and poster on an Asian shop is starting to see an increase in racial tension.
"The national Islamophobia and unhelpful statements of cabinet ministers means that it is necessary to draw the faith groups, community, Trade Unions, and politicians together to create a united front against racist and fascist parties."
The meeting will be on Thursday, November 30 at 7.30pm at the Salford Link Project, Chadwick Road, Eccles.
