                    Day

To mark the second anniversary of the Intifada a "mobile"
protest will be held in London. The mobile protest aims to
heighten awareness about the role of Marks and Spencer, the
biggest British corporate sponsor of Zionism.

The action will start at the Marks and Spencer on Edgware
Road, W2 (nearest tube Edgware Rd) at 12.00pm and then move
onto the M&S headquarters on Baker Street, to the M&S
at Marble Arch, to Selfridges in Oxford Street and then onto
M&S Oxford Circus. The mobile protest will be loud, colourful
and lively. Small speeches will take place at each site.
We hope that you will be able to join us on the mobile protest
and help make it as lively, noisy and political as possible.

PROTEST AGAINST THE BUTCHER OF JENIN

Shaul Mofaz - The Israeli General responsible for massacring
Palestinians in Jenin will be in LEEDS, [Leeds Football Ground,
Elland Road] on Tuesday 29th October to raise funds for United
                    Jewish Israeli Appeal.
We call upon everybody to come and show your disgust at allowing
a criminal to collect money in Leeds.

The Glasgow Hilton was rocked on Saturday by the turnout
of 500 protesters, all disgusted by the Butcher of Jenin,
                    Shaul Mofaz.
                  ACTION REQUESTED:

                    - Turn up on Tuesday 29th October at 5.30pm outside Elland
Road to let Mofaz know Exactly what you think of him.

                    - If you haven't already contacted your MP about Mofaz's
visit to Britain, please do so now. Ask them to raise the
issue with the Home Office. Anyone else would already have
been indicted for war crimes. Go to www.faxyourmp.com and
tell your MP that you think he should be tried, and he certainly
shouldn't be able to walk around the UK like a dignitary.

                    - Contact Leeds United. Tell them you think that them hosting
a dinner for Mofaz is going to make their race relations
policy stink even more than it already does. They will claim
that they are only letting out their hall to a third party.
However, if Saddam Hussein was going to be dined at Elland
Road, we don't think they would let that go ahead! This
is the same principle. Go to http://www.leedsunited.com/FEEDBACK/feedback_links.asp

This demonstration, which falls on the second anniversary
of the Palestinian Intifada, and on the eve of the Labour
Party Annual Conference, will send a clear and unequivocal
message to our Government; that the British public will not
tolerate double-standards, hypocrisy or injustice, nor will
it stand impassively whilst our Government claims the right
to interfere in the affairs of other nations. This demonstration
is also meant to issue an unconditional message of support
and solidarity to the peoples of Palestine and Iraq, announcing
that the British public side entirely with the victims of

The Collective for the Rights of the Palestinian People,
in Marseilles (France) appeals to a Great International Demonstration
in Marseilles on September 28th, 2002
Starved, deprived of health care, humiliated, tortured, assassinated,
the Palestinian people are the victims of crimes against humanity
We refuse to be passive witnesses.
While the Palestinian people and their representatives are
confronted to the daily violation of all human and international
rights by the State of Israel and by the USA, the UN, Europe
and all international authorities abdicate and only show cowardliness
and complicity. The only ones to exercise a protection of
the Palestinian people and to stand by them in Palestine are
                    international pacifist citizens.

Today, tens of thousands of people demonstrate all over the
world and particularly around the Mediterranean sea, their
support to the Palestinian people and demand from their government
and the international community the implementation of these
UNO resolutions that are being voted day after day.

We are planning this Great International Demonstration in
Marseilles in order to assert our revolt and refusal of the
apartheid policy and of the brutal colonization the State
of Israel is forcing on Palestinians.

In Marseilles, port of the Mediterranean sea, a wharf nicknamed
Carmel Wharf is exclusively devoted to the unloading of Israeli
fruit and vegetables while at the same time in Palestine,
economy is reduced to nothing. Olive trees are uprooted, greenhouses
are destroyed, the exportation of goods is stopped. Israel
stifles the Palestinian economy ; let's boycott Israeli goods!

Because Marseilles is a symbol of relationship between all
Mediterranean countries and Europe, it can be used as a natural
place for the gathering and rallying of people from all the
neighbouring countries against apartheid and colonization.
Marseilles used to be the main Mediterranean port of French
colonial domination. It must now become the spearhead of mobilization
that will put a stop to the economic support of Israeli apartheid
                    and colonial policy.
To refuse apartheid and colonization, let's boycott Israeli
                    goods.

                    - To say no to apartheid and colonization in Palestine is
to say no to the wall of disgrace which makes Palestinians
                      prisonners in their own land.

                    - To say no to apartheid and colonization is not only to
give our support to the Palestinians but also to guarantee
a future to the Israeli people in an area where there shall
be peace only when justice is recognized and implemented.

                    - To say no to apartheid and colonization in Palestine is
to say no to all forms of domination from one people over
                      another, everywhere in the world.

                    - To say no to apartheid and colonization in Palestine is
to assert our will to live in a peaceful world where everyone
may live and move about freely.

Dr. Swee Ang who served in Beirut during the massacre at
Sabra and Shatila is scheduled to participate in a 30 minute
programme on BBC Radio 4 "Return to Sabra and Shatila".
                  BBC Description:

Swee Chai Ang retraces a journey she first made 20 years
ago, when she left her job as a surgeon in London to work
in war-torn Beirut. She revisits refugee camps where she
                      worked.

This programme which will be on air has received a lot of
hostile reaction, being about the 20th anniversary of the
massacre. We would appreciate some support especially for Dr
Swees producer, who had gone through a lot of trouble,
to get the programme done. They have just returned from recording
                    it in Shatilla Camp.

                  Sports Boycott: Manchester United Vs
                    Maccabi Haifa

On the anniversary of the Sabra & Shatila massacre Manchester
United are playing an israeli football team.
The Israeli government makes it mandatory for all men and
some women of 18 years to spend 36 months in the Israeli Defence
Force, therefore all of the Israeli players will have spent
time carrying guns, and may have contributed to the killings
of innocent Palestinians. All of the Maccabi Haifa players
should be investigated as to whether they are indictable for
war crimes, including the atrocities in Jenin earlier this
                    year.

Film: Palestine Is Still The Issue
John Pilger's latest film, Palestine Is Still The Issue,
is to be broadcast by ITV1 in the UK.
The film sees Pilger return to the Middle East, twenty-five
years after first reporting from the region, to ask why Palestinians
are still refugees in their own land and to explore the effects
of the Israeli occupation on the day to day lives of ordinary
                    Palestinians.

Continuing the season of programmes commemorating September
                      11. In this controversial film, Fuad Nahdi, a Muslim journalist
and commentator - and possibly the only person to have dined
with both Tony Blair and Osama Bin Laden, challenges the
                      Western perspective on September 11.

                   DETAILS:
                  Protest Against Anti-Defamation League
Join Human and Civil Rights activists and groups to Protest
the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and to spread the word all
                    around.
The Anti-Defamation League frequently engages in attacking
conscienscious Jews, Christians, Muslims and others for taking
a stance for human rights and equality if they speak out against
Israeli violations of human rights. The ADL seems unable or
unwilling to distinguish criticism of Israeli violations of
human rights (which we consider legitimate) from generalizations
about Judaism or Jews. In their attacks on any group or individual
criticizing the action of the Israeli regime, the ADL identifies
itself with the actions that they supposedly fight against
                    (bigotry, racism, prejudice, hate).
