Bring
peace by boycotting Israel
Readers Letter
Irish Examiner
29 July 2002
The Israeli bomb attack on an apartment block in Gaza, which left
15 people dead, nine of them children, is another example of Ariel
Sharon's government's campaign of terror against the Palestinian
people.
Since the present Palestinian Intifada began in September 2000,
the Israeli military have killed more than 1,600 Palestinians, the
vast majority of them civilians. Israel has used its helicopter
gunships, F-16 fighter aircraft and tanks to destroy Palestinian
apartment blocks, houses, schools and police stations in the West
Bank and Gaza. The infrastructure of the Palestinian National Authority
lies in ruins and most Palestinian towns and cities are under Israeli
army occupation.
Because the Irish Government, the EU and the UN have failed, so
far, to impose sanctions on Israel in protest at its continued occupation
of Arab lands, the people must act.
Please impose your own individual sanctions on Israel by boycotting
Israeli goods and services. If it's from Israel, don't buy it. Remember,
the boycott of South African produce helped end apartheid a boycott
of Israeli goods can help bring justice to the Palestinians and
peace to the Middle East.
