[Boycott - Other News] Alert - Protest G4S Complicity In Torture Of Palestinian Children - Fri 9th Nov
inminds 8 November 2012 Join us on Friday 9th November 2012 at 2:30pm outside outside the G4S London HQ to protest at the security firm G4S's complicity in the torture of Palestinian children.
Friday 9th November 2012
2:30-4:30pm
G4S London HQ
105 Victoria Street, SW1E 6QT (Victoria Tube)
The British-Danish security firm G4S is providing security systems to help Israel secure prisons and interrogation centres where Palestinian children are being caged and tortured. These include Ofer prison in the occupied territory where G4S provides the perimeter defense system and the central command control room for the entire facility, and the notorious Al Jalame interrogation centre in northern Israel with its Cell 36 where Defence for Children International reported children are locked in small filthy cells in solitary confinement, some for 65 days, with their only escape being the interrogation room where they are shackled by their hands and feet to a chair whilst being abused, sometimes for hours. G4S provides the security system that keep this torture den operational.
G4S is also provides services and equipment to the illegal Israeli settlements, checkpoints and the wall.
We will also be protesting in solidarity with Palestinian hunger strikers. On 9th November Ayman Sharawna will be on his 139th day without food whilst Samer Al-Issawi will be on his 108 days of hunger strike. Both men are in critical condition with Ayman Sharawna having lost vision in his right eye and all sensation in his body.
On Friday we will also be demanding the immediate release of Ayman Nasser, a human rights defender working for Addameer the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association. Father of four, Ayman Nasser was abducted from his home on 15th October when Israeli soldiers raided his home with dogs. He is currently being interrogated at the notorious Moskobiyyeh detention centre infamous for torture. He has not been charged with anything other than defending the rights of Palestinian prisoners.

Featured MP3 Podcast "Everywhere we went (in Gaza) the same question was on every body's lips - 'You are here but where are the Arabs?' One little girl said to me 'where is this Arab world that they teach us about in school? Where is this Ummah that they talk to us about on Fridays? Why did they leave us alone?'. That's what she said to me, with tears in her eyes 'why did they leave us alone?' I had to turn my face away from her when she said it, and I'm not an Arab, I had to turn away.. I couldn't face her in the face of such a question.." Leader of Viva Palestina aid convoy to Gaza US tour hosted by Al-Awda, April 2009 [71min / 56Mb] [need flash]
